i have 8 flash animations i want to include in 1 swf. i cant copy frames bc the names of the symbols are sometimes duplicates. i tried importing but some of the files are too big to be put in as movie clips. i am now doing a flash project.

1) how do i open another file in the project via the index/default file

In your main movie create empty movie clips.

Then just load your swf files into them. As they are seperate swfs just being showcased in your main movie, it will not matter if they have duplicate named symbols.

um.. not possible. 1 of the files is too big to be inserted as a movie clip. my comp freezes for a few seconds then acts like u didnt do anything.

are you File > Importing them?
or are you using the AS command "loadMovie"?
