flash (macromedia) : Drawing a cog / joining strokes.

Hi,

OK, Flash-newbie here...

I'm trying to create a pre-loader, and it will consist of a rotating cog (like part of a bicycle)... and as the movie loads, the cog will fill with color from bottom to top...

I've drawn the cog in AutoCAD and got that into Flash MX2004 by Cut and Paste. I couldn't find a way to get it from AutoCAD -> Flash without it exploding my polylines (closed splines).

So now, I've got the splines in Flash, but they are exploded. Id like to join them.

Anyone got advice about what I should do... either to get my lines to join, or a tutorial for a preloader like I am explaining.

Thanks

Mike

Not sure what you mean by exploded.

If you have vector lines, press Ctrl-B a few times to break them apart into a simple graphic. Then you should be able to fill it.

If you don't, try Edit > Paste Special > as Metafile or whichever option looks like it will give you vectors.

Also, Flash imports DXF format which you can produce from AutoCad.
