Has anybody had any luck getting a transparent background to work in Safari?

NONE of mac support Wmode , for many years it was strictly IE windows feature
as it require ActiveX controls .
Very recently Netscape 7 and other browser start supporting but that's exclusively on windows OS .

Hi -

Thanks for your response. This does work in ie & Netscape on the mac. It's only Safari that gives me the problem. Check it out...

fwiw, more browsers do now offer wmode-style buffering, and the Flash
Player does take advantage of it where available... do a text search on
"wmode" on this page to find the most recent listing:

For Safari, I don't think it offers such buffered drawing, but even if
it did it could well require another codechange to the Player to
implement. I haven't heard of such drawing in that browser yet, sorry.
