Flash won't activate in Windows 2000 Halconet
11/30/2003 10:46:46 PM
flash (macromedia): I need help with a problem activating Flash. It downloads fine and installs but won't activate, so I can't view sites with Flash.

My system is running Windows 2000, Internet Explorer ver 6.0.2800.1106IC and Outlook 2003. I've followed Macromedia's recommendations for correcting problems but have had no success. I've deleted and re-installed IE 6, deleted and installed Flash 7 plug-in and standalone, installed Flash MX 2004 trial with the debug version of Flash, repaired MS Office installation, and have downloaded all MS updates for Windows 2000 and Office.

Please reply with any recommendations for solving this issue. Thanks!

I'm curious, why did you come to this authoring group? I've been trying
to track the reasons for the increase in traffic diverted here, instead
of using the expected player-support documents.

What led you to this newsgroup, and what other options did you first
pursure? Thanks.

John,

Thank you for you reply. I have tried Macromedia's online and email player support without success and telephone support is not available. I downloaded the Flash MX 2004 trial and it directed me to this newsgroup for assistance. Any suggestions?

Henry

Never mind. I fixed it. I went into the Advanced Properties and increased the
storage limit and then deleted my browser cache, offline content, and history.
Went back to the site and it worked like a charm. Just thought that someone
else might benefit from this info.
