Does MX 2004 (7.0.1) work with Mac OS 10.3?

Does MX 2004 (7.0.1) work with Mac OS 10.3? samshirley

flash (macromedia): We just upgraded to new Macintosh G5's with OS10.3 and flash MX2004 (7.0.1) demo. Type 1 fonts are trashed onscreen, difficult to select and edit, and the app crashes in a few minutes.

What's going on? I'm trying to use Flash MX 2004 in a professional work environment and it doesn't work. So far two of us in my workplace have tried MX 2004 and we both have this problem. These are brand-new G5's with a clean OS install.

Do I have to go back to a G4, OS9 and Flash 6.0? Does Flash 7.0.1 work on OS 10.3 at all?

I have to recommend whether the studio upgrades to MX2004, and right now it's so broken that we can't do work in it. I like the new features, if i could just get the app to run long enough to try them out...

I am using MX 2004 (7.0.1) with OS X 10.3 and it runs fine. But I'm on a G4. The only thing I can think of is the fact that you are using a G5 which uses a 64-bit processor. Studio MX may have problems running. However, I'm not sure. The first thing I'd do is uninstall or delete Flash MX and download and install a new copy before doing anything else. If its the same prob I'd contact Apple or Macromedia directly and see what they say.

Good luck!

I use 7.0.1 on a duel G4 with 10.3 and it seems to work fine. I've had the
program for a couple of weeks with no problems (yet)!

For "What can cause some-but-not-all fonts to be distorted in
some-but-not-all apps in Mac OS 10.3?", try getting the 10.3.1 system
updater... that has removed the PostScript problem for many. (I don't
know the technical causes myself.)

For "How can I troubleshoot a crash?" then the usual path is to isolate
one part at a time... one-or-all-files, one-or-all-restarts,
one-or-all-machines, that type of path... more info in technotes under
"troubleshooting", and conflicts specific to MX04 have been listed in
the MX04 "Emerging Issues" technotes.
