flash (macromedia):
Hi All:

I asked this question in another group and received no answer.
So I'm asking it here.

My company has asked me to create a CD-ROM which will include
flash files, .pdf's and html pages.

It will be in frames - the top frame will include a flash menu. And we
will bring various files into the bottom frame including flash demos.

My questions are:

1. Do I save the flash menu as an executable file (to include a projector)?
And if so, how do I bring the executable file into the top frame? Is it
on its own html page?

2. Same with the content below - I'll be bringing in three flash demos.
Should they also be saved as executibles? and if so how to I refer
to them in my Flash menu - are they on an HTML page?

Thanks,

Marje

If the user interface on your CD-ROM will be a web browser, then you
should have your Flash movies as normal swf:s just like on the Internet.
The browser will play your Flash movies with the flash plug-in, and it
plays only swf:s and doesn't know anything about the projector exe files.

If you also want to have your flahs files playing outside a browser you
will need the projector exe files as well (or A projector exe that loads
and plays the othe swf:s).

Thanks Patrik for your help.

So, just to be sure ....
... if I set an autorun to open my html file (which includes the
swf's) will most people's computer's open that html file in
their default browser?

If you're talking about windows environment (which I'm assuming), you can't use the autorun file to open HTML, that I am aware of. As far as I know, autorun's can only point to executable files. However, you can create a simple exe (VB or otherwise) which will open HTML, and have your autorun open that. Correct me if I am mistaken anyone.
