flash (macromedia) : A Flash First ?

This may be so basic that I'm blinded or it could be very complex. Either way it's a first for me and I'm dumbfounded.

I have a simple Flash movie that loads and call another movie upon completion...simple.

Except on one particular webserver only the first movie plays but not the ones that follow. It can't be the mime type as Flash works. But to be sure I checked. Mime type is correct.

What would cause such a problem?

I have tried these movies on many servers and they work fine. I have even uploaded many times to be sure that they correctly uploaded.

Any clues?

So baffled I just wanna eat! Someone help 'fore I pop.

Hi,

2 things come to my mind:

1)U mentioned that u tried on other servers and it worked fine. Thus, that particular Server could be it...I doubt it though...

2)Make sure u have the files uploaded in the same folder.....

Also, maybe u can provide the code to see, if it's the code, but like u said u tried it on different servers...

BTW, what type of Server are u having problem with?

Is the movie FLASH MX or FLASH 5?

Take care and God Bless...

Hey Min,

Thanks for the quick reply...

On a Linux server.
All files are in the correct folder...in fact I uploaded from the same directory to each server.

Host says they have no other Flash problems on this server.

Some of the files were created on FL4 and for another site FL5. Have the same problem with both. Again...only on this server.

Just one example (Very early stages of site...pardon) : http://www.bridesbootcamp.com/index1.html

Same files different server:
http://65.172.83.92/bride

What baffles most is that one of the nav items "at ease" works in example one...so there seems to be no logic to this prob.

Thanks again and thanks in advance.

Now one of you may have to call the Para(burp!)Macromediamedics!

O.K. so now I'm startin' to get that isolated freaky kinda feeling.

Is this like a totally foreign thing? Has no one experienced the same?

Please note if you have experienced anything even remotely similar...even if the prob was never solved.

If not I'll have to chalk it up as one of the Unsolved Flash Mysteries...and then I'll have to solve it alone.

Wow thats creepy!

Only thing I can add, is...

Did you check both .flas and make sure that they are exactly the same code and frames and all? Can/did you d/l the one fom the working site and immed reupload them to the new site? Did you transfer them to the new site by different transfer means? May the files got currupted along the way...

Other than that yes very creepy!
