CD EXE problem using MX Kimbit

flash (macromedia):
I have created a an interactive Flash presentation and now I need to put it on a CD that runs on a PC for my client.

I built the presentation on a MAC and it runs great. I published an EXE file to test on a PC and it does all kinds of weird things:

1/ it's not loading the swf files from the external folder properly, it shows the mcHolder it have on the stage
(THIS portion is not even on a CD yet. )

2/ it's playing the videos I have in some of these swf files very choppy.( they run smoothly on the MAC desktop).
other than that it seems fine But I'd like to get it on a CD first to properly test it.

The EXE files just don't seem to work though.

Any thoughts???? I urgently need an answer as client needs 12 finished /working CD's in hand by Monday.

Thanks to all that respond.

Kimbit

Hope you got it sorted - But there are problems with Flash 6 on CD - Video is not good / and can stutter and cause problems - I have been having nightmare for 4 months with this - and it was sorted last week with the introduction of the flash 7 beta player. Video is smooth as a very smooth thing and seems to run up to 30 - 70% more efficiently!! flash 6 player grabs all the run time it can and it eventually falls over resulting in stutters.

Try the beta at - http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/public_beta/

however - there are problems, it is only the OCX file of the player ( browser plugin ) and needs a shell probram like SWFstudio to "wrap it in". I am hoping for the final version of the player is going to come out soon!

I tried The flash jester thing - not an option! Still stutters. The underlying problem is that flash 6 will still stutter on certain machine - most noticably my clients samsung laptops!

It is to do with sound cards and interupts and memory overheads. Will not make a jot of difference if you copy the content to hard drive - which defeats the point of have CD prenentations.

it was a known about problem and apparently solved in the macromedia technotes for r67 but it still occurs on some machines out there. Not much fun finding out after you've had 20,000 Discs pressed, and a massive failure on Macromedia part. Pretty much made me backrupt!

However as I said above - crossed fingers it seems to work fine with flash 7 beta. All we need now is the final player and maybe in 2005 they'll get around to the Director Xtra
