flash (macromedia): [quoted text, click to view]

First off.. yes, you save a .fla file, but you don't convert it.. It's
saved much like that of a source code file. You never "convert" this
file into anything. it's simply always saved for future re-opening to
add to your work.

You use this .fla file to "export" or "publish" your work (a second
file(.fla is created)). If you go the export route, you simply created
a .swf file, and this is embedded into a HTML file using the Object
format. If you go the publish route, FlashMX creates a .swf, and a
..html file automatically no need for Front page.

Can you place the HTML somewhere we can look at it? I'll take a look at
the HTML.

p.s. Front page really sucks!! Its creates this horrible, non compliant
barely readable crap HTML code that "surprise" MSIE is the only browser
that reads it.. wow.. how lucky for M$. They take the same old crappy
software that was created back in 1995, and simply just keep sticking a
new date on it to make people think its new. Just my opinion.. sorry.

Which way? Did you Export your movie, or did you Publish your movie?

Perhaps you should forget the Flash for right now then, and concentrate
on just plain HTML.

Flash and Dreamweaver are software programs for desktop computers.
Apache is a server side program for a server computers. They don't have
to work well together, in fact there don't even have to work on the same
machine together. If you make a text file and stick it on a server, it
will server it out no matter what it is..

But, If your asking will dreamweaver create HTML code that runs on web
servers, .. yes, in a way. The problem is not with apache though, the
problem is making code that a browser will read and display the way you
want it displayed.

Frontpage and Flash MX oooride

I made a banner in Flash MX and am trying to get it to work with Frontpage 2002, however I cannot get it to work. I saved the flash file then converted it to an .swf extension and imported the .swf file and the html file into 'my web' in frontpage.

I copied and pasted the html into the index.html page where I want it but it won't load... I even tried publishing it to see if that needed to be done to get it to work but no success.

I'm sure this is an easy one to figure out but I'm fairly new to flash so I've tried to get it without success.

Any help ?

thanks in advance

Yeah I did do it the way you said but who knows what I did wrong...

I think I'm going to just start over and use dreamweaver since I have studio mx. I'm only 3 days old with all of this so I've been getting confused on what I'm sure is ridiculously easy.

Does flash and dreamweaver work well with apache ?
