i tried to play a game but when i click play it gives me this message:

this application requires an Xtra (Flash Movie...) that either does not exist or failed to initialized properly. Please make sure the apropriate Xtras are in the Xtras folder(s).


I then click OK because that is the only button to click and then another message appears:

The shockwave movie has errors that have caused playback problems. please contact the author of this content regarding this problem. Shockwave is unable to continue.


I thought that i needed to download shockwave player, but even when trying to download it, i recieve the same message. i recieve the message as soon as i click Install Now. what might be the problem? this has only happened when my sister tried playing games on neopets.com, but on shockwave.com and popcap.com, other online gaming sites, the games work fine. this problem still occurs when trying to download shockwave player. is there anything you could do to help me? thanks alot.

it sounds as though the author of the game (a shockwave game) has messed up.
it's nothibng to do with your computer/browser/plugin. they've used some
dynamic flash assets in their movie, and forgotten to include the flash
asset xtra when they published. if there's no flash actually in the
timeline, the extra won't download, so the movie fails. if you really wanna
play the game, you'll have to contact the author and point out their mistake
to them :)
