I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but I didn't even know what to search for.

I've got a site where a flash navigation bar is used inside of an HTML shell. The flash nav bar is the same in every HTML page (contact.html, about.html, etc) so that after the home page it will live in the viewer's cache and won't have to reload. However, I'm trying to figure out a way to have each section highlighted on the proper page. In other words, when you are in about.html then about is highlighted.

I know that I could make each button a single flash movie, but that nav bar is fairly complicated with graphics and etc and I can't really slice it up nicely.

Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

Hi,

You could use action script to hightlight the text of the button you are selecting. And maybe 2 frames, to avoid reloading the complete page.

Or, you cold leave the flash nav in a frame at the top and use javascript
in the pages that load underneath to tell flash what to do.

Isn't the whole point of flash that it doesn't vanish and reappear when
you click a link ????
