flash (macromedia):
There is nothing on this site that has helped me. I uninstalled my original not updated flashplayer. It seems that all the info. talks about is the firewall blocking the flashplayer and no such thing is happening. I have checked all cookies and everything else. I can't wait for the tech. support to answer me. So I would like some useful info to get my computer back on track.
need more info. you didnt mention OS, if you use a download manager , what connection speed, etc...? you dont even mention what is going wrong. is the player not downloading fully? if it is downloading, is the installer not working when you double click it? are you not seeing flash content after it installs? do you have your browser security settings at maximum? one of the reasons nobody has replied is because you don't provide any specifics, and nobody has the time to troubleshoot with very little to no information. It's kinda like saying "my car wont start, what's wrong with it?" Your title mentions SP2 - so we will assume you have XP (windows) correct? if so - do you have admin rights when you login? (power user).
did you try searching the forum first? i did and found: If you encounter problems installing the Flash Player on your browser, you might want to visit TechNote 19166: Common Macromedia flash player install Issues at http://www.macromedia.com/go/19166. You might want to go over the checklist so you can successfully update the Flash Player on your browser. Hope this information helps. Ok, thank you for helping me out :) I do have windows XP, I do have Admin. rights, I have DSL connection, I uninstalled my old un updated flashplayer in hopes that would help fix my problem of not being able to update it. So, I do not have flashplayer at this moment. I have Java permissions on High safety I have channel permissions on High safety all safe Active X controls are either on Prompt or enable phatkow, I have been to the link you gave me already and the questions that are on the page have nothing to do with my problem. My problem is that it will not even attempt to download. Here is the process I'm going through and what I'm seeing: clicked on button for flashplayer download page on download page: says Install Now "Important Message: On the next page you may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window to allow the install. You must close all other browser windows before installing." Note: there is no gold bar at the top of my page. I Just clicked the Install button There is a Red X where there should be something else. No box came up for the Install. "Important Message: You may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window to allow the install." "When you see the installation completion movie above and text below, your installation was successful. The installation should only take a minute or two on a 56k modem. Did you know? Now you can use Flash to educate, train, and inform in minutes, not months. Learn more ? Your computer may require a reboot after auto-installation of the Flash Player ActiveX control, if the Flash Player is already in use during the installation process. " I will go check out the unrelated problem questions to see if there is anything that will actually fix my problem but I doubt it. Thanks, I appreciate any help
I was right. You were no help at all. Thanks for nothing. here's the real solution to my problem: droy88 Junior Member Posts: 6 Joined: 10/08/2004 10/08/2004 03:18:45 PM I've been having the same problem for months after installing SpyWare Blaster. I just read on another forum certain spyware and anti-virus programs can block flash downloads and it gave the following procedure to fix it in SpyWare Blaster (btw - I'm very happy to report it worked for me): Check to see if you have "Flash Killer" enabled in Spyware Blaster: Open Spyware Blaster Go to Tools Select "Flash Killer" tab If "Disable and block Macromedia Flash (4.x, 5.x, 6.x) in Internet Explorer" is checked then uncheck it Next : Close Spyware Blaster and all other programs running. Restart computer Shut down any anti-virus, spyware and adware programs just to be safe Go to Macromedia's download page and try downloading Download Flash If Spyware Blaster is your culprit then this method should work. Best of Luck! Don eBusiness Help Center ps. I unfortunately had several forum pages opened at the time I myself ran through this procedure and forgot to save the page I found this answer on when I restarted. As yet, I have not come across it in my history file but will continue to look and post the forum responsible for it - I think it important to give credit where credit is due!

What a rude little boy! Go play elsewhere kid.
What an utter arsehole First he asks about flash player in the wrong forum (should have asked in the macromedia.player.flash) and then insults people who try to help him Get stuffed nopedydopedy .. noone here will want to help a prick like you. Idiots like you don't deserve the help of those who volunteer their valuable time here.
That solution works, I am now the happiest man alive... I have been trying to figure this out for days.... Rudeness get you nowhere, but this solution fixed my problem... I'm sure that there is a moral there somewhere... ;0)
