Why Can't I Seem To Download Flash? breckenridge55

flash (macromedia): I got a new computer like a week ago and until yesterday I didn't even realize
I didn't have flash. I went to some website that sent me to download it and it
never downloaded and I can't figure out why. Also, some portions of some
sites, TVGuide.com in particular I can't see some parts of the site, instead it
just gives me that little icon of the paper with a red X on it. Is this
because I do not have flash? I'm specifically talking about the navigation bar
on the lefthand side of the site and a little bar at the top going horizontal
across the site right below the TVGuide.com icon that I can not view. It also
happens when I go to the Flash download page and hit download and it says it
has been downloaded when the movie appears or whatever. Well the space it's
supposed to appear in has that icon as well. I've been able to download all
the other little applications I use off the Internet and my computer is fine
from what I can tell, it runs a Windows XP system. Can anyone help? Thanks in
advance!

By the way I have AOL Instant Messanger if you think you can figure out the
problem and have a few questions about my computer, that may be an easy way to
get in contact. My screen name is breckenridge55
