Not sure what might be happening from your description, but if this is
static graphics--have you tried importing the native freehand file into
flash instead of swf? -Tom Unger

Ackward repositionning after importing SWF files Jonzy

Hi, I'm a new member and I found this forum last year but I've been involved in
more Flash projects recently and this forum has been helpful many times This
time I need a good help.

I have this problem which I need to know how to solve.

I designed a scene in Freehand, and exported the design in SWF format. I
resaved the SWF in another name but this time with an object in a different
color, no more no less (for animation purpose).

The problem I have is once in flash, I import the original design in my
working space, and everything is OK, but when I import my second SWF in the
layer above, the object is positionning itself way off outside the working
space. It doesn't paste in the exact position of the original position of my
first SWF.

What I do wrong and how I can go throught this? (MX2004)

THANKS

EDIT: I found out that I don't have this problem when I import on the root
scene, the problem seems to occur when I paste in movies or button scenes.

Do you know how I can verify that?

The problem doesn't show up when I import in the root scene x. But when I
doubleclick on a on a symbol and I import the second object in that symbol's
layer, it doesn't paste on the exact position.

I thought Squipple was on something when he said about registration, I put the
mark to the upper left corner of the symbol this time. It did something but
still misplaced.

The only temporary solution I have found is to import to a new layer on scene
1, cut and paste in place in the symbols layers.
