flash (macromedia) : Any fixes yet for top MX2004 complaints?

I'm revisiting my decision not to upgrade to Flash MX2004 and wondering
if Macromedia has promised or offered any fixes yet for some of the main
complaints about MX2004, i.e.,:
- no basic mode in the Action Script panel
- no independent timeline undo's
- inability to save Flash MX2004 files as lower version formats
- other complaints/fixes I don't know about?

Frank;
Not sure what you mean by "unable to save flashmx2004 files as lower
version formats"--I'm still using fmx here as well, but afaik in flashmx
2004 you can save fla files back one version ( to flashmx) which is the same
as or better than what was available in any past version. None of the other
issues you mention were addressed in the updater. I have no inside
information, but I would be surprised to see any additional updater released
for flashmx 2004 at this point. -Tom Unger

Thanks a lot Tom. Sounds like I was misinformed about the "save as"
thing. I was told the other day by someone with FMX2004 that he
couldn't save a file for me to open in FMX. That made me start thinking
about having to upgrade, and when I started Googling for the pros and
cons of upgrading, among the various gripes about the undo issue and the
loss of basic mode for Actionscript editing, I found at least one post
also complaining about the inability of FMX2004 to save as previous
versions. Glad to hear that they were wrong, and that I may be able to
open my colleague's FMX2004 file after all.

The other issues remain, I guess. Are they the reason you're still
using FMX?

I particularly think that a return of the normal/expert modes within the
actions panel would be beneficial. This would provide greater
usability/accessibility to a larger number of possible users. Hence, the
marketability of this product would increase proportionally.

Especially with the focus on the next Flash being for designers .. normal
mode is more important for those who don't think in terms of programming.
