Hello, everybody. I'm trying to display some text on a Web page from an xml
file, which looks like this
....
<app>
<txt value="Here's the first text to show" />
<txt value="This is the second text to show" />
.....
</app>
.....

Each txt element's value would fade in and stay a few seconds and then fade
out to be replaced by the second txt's value. Then the whole process would
begin anew. Please help as how this would be done. Any pre-built, free
components out there that can do this? Thank you.

I described that some time ago , tho on arrays.
You could load the text and split into an array and use the very same method
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/macromedia.flash/browse_thread/thread/d70380a4f4c683dd/792e578d78f2ae61?q=First+Line+of+the+Text+group:macromedia.flash.*&_done=%2Fgroups%3Fas_q%3DFirst+Line+of+the+Text%26safe%3Dimages%26as_ugroup%3Dmacromedia.flash.*%26lr%3D%26hl%3Den%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#792e578d78f2ae61
Or you could use the slide show template that comes with flash, instead of images use text.
And last not least ,you could check flashkit.com/movies , there is plenty of course for you to study.
Not necessarily directly what you look for but text slide show or image slide show XML driven are
pretty much alike.
