How to save pictures from online flash?

flash (macromedia):

save a picture from and online Flash movie.

Actually there are numerous decompilers that extract images, sounds and
actionscript from Flash files. "sothink Decompiler" is one of them.
Whether it is proper to do so is another thing.

But there is a way to not leave the swf in the viewers cache - therefore no
decompiling... no picture.

Do you know of such a site where the swf cannot be retrieved? I rarely see
one that I could not get using commonly available utilities. The only ones
that give me any trouble are the ones that hide the swf names inside
database files or server side scripts. The no-cache option isn't enough.

for what purpose do you want to do this?
there's no way to make your .swf save a picture of itself.

Yeah, I actually understood; you stated the question properly. You can't save a picture from and online Flash movie.

You can use print screen, or alt-print screen, to copy the the whole movie content, then press Ctrl+V in a paint app, and then crop to to waht you want. The reason I asked "for what purpose" is because you cannot just take people's pictures off Flash sites. However, if you are dealing with a site which you know you are allowed to take pictures, print screen or alt-print screen is the only way to get it off a Flash movie.

hope that helps

select Movie1) will not leave the .swf in your cache. Some site
capturing/checking utilities can rip it off the site, hackers too I suspect,
for in this simple example I did not take the time to put the .swf into a
db. Even so, I suspect that some could get it: nothing is truly secure on
the web.

Good one! It seems to be effective against anything I have. I couldn't
find anything. A screen capture of your image works though.

I don`t understand why some of the top sites don`t use thi method? You must tell us more.

Certified but not by Macromedia!

and you basically can't stop a screen capture, no matter what you do.

What I am saying is that this simple example (only one movie enabled, so select Movie1) will not leave the .swf in your cache. Some site capturing/checking utilities can rip it off the site, hackers too I suspect, for in this simple example I did not take the time to put the .swf into a db. Even so, I suspect that some could get it: nothing is truly secure on the web.
But the .swf will not fall into the hands of most users.

Well , first the more you try to hide the more challenging it become.
Some people assume you have super stuff so they insist to get it , for the sake of it .

Second , it has some consequence. For instance try to reload the page.
You won't be able to access it or will end up with error .
Could not be use on commercial site , needs to be more neat.
There is many ways of serving files from server via php and avoid caching , I personally post
samples few times , it is as well used on number of sites , like bigshotmedia.com but again , there is nothing that
can be done to protect the content .
To discourage someone from digging the files use multiple swf , one with functions , another with content and share across.
People who aim to pick out one effect or part of it find it too confusing and time consuming to play around.
Also pass some variable or via html or URL , verify them and based on result run or stop the file.
Running it from desktop will become more complicated.
There really is many ways to make your work pain for someone but there never is a 100 % ways to stop anyone.
