flash (macromedia):
I was trying out Flash MX 2004 Professional but it seems to be totally unusable because it just hangs every single time i try to publish/test/debug movie.

The file practically doesn't have any actionscript, just a few stop()-s, that's all. It uses the flash 'screens' feature (9 screens in a presentaion). Plus few buttons for browsing through the presentaton and a motion tween (alpha blending) on every screen. Nothing complicated, but the damn thing just won't publish!! If i had just one screen it was slow (published 1-2 mins), added another and it would hang my machine for 10 minutes before creating a perfect result (works in every way). Now that i have 9 screens i tried to leae it publish overnight........ when i woke up it was STILL publishing. .. very odd...

oh, btw i'm running winxp sp1 and have trial version 7.01
my comp: 512MB DDR333 memory, athlonXP1800+, gigabyte mobo etc.. so that shouldn't be the problem

any help would be appreciated :)

No help here, but I echo your problem.

System:
Windows XP Professional
1G Ram
2.4MHz Processor
Plenty of disk space available
Flash MX Professional/MX Studio - fully licensed

I have a movie that uses streaming audio connected to activity on the stage.
Mostly tweened animations. Minimal actionScript. It has worked fine up to
this point, then suddenly I cannot publish it, or preview it.

You can download the .fla here:

[L=www.midnighttoast.com/html/xfers/riverdance_03.fla]http://www.midnighttoast.c
om/html/xfers/riverdance_03.fla[/L]
Be warned... it is a 3+ meg file...

I have also copied the entire piece by selecting the entire timeline and
ctrl+alt+C copying the entire movie, then opening a completely new movie and
ctrl+alt+v pasting the timeline into it, saving it, and trying to publish that
- no good.

I am especially bummed out because I am guessing the solution is to reinstall
MX Studio - and I can't find my damn disk!!!! Curse my lack of organizational
skills... I need to get this file published. Help!
