My problem is this:

I'm new to flash and I'm trying to load an external txt file into a textarea because of the ease of the scrollbars......i know that i can use a textfield but i can't get any scrollbars to work on it......... I've tried everything with the textfield and can't get them to work. So i went to a textarea and am trying there.

I'm using mx04pro, I don't know but i think that it handles the componets differently than the other versions. i don't know, please help! anyone!!!

I'm also new to flash, so this may not be very much help to you, but then again it, might. I have FlashMX which came with a yellow manual. The manual is actually about the worst one I've ever seen for any program, but it did have a tutorial in it and it shows you how to do it. I was able to put type into it, but it was tricky. It seemed it had to be done in exactly the right order, or it disappeared later. Not sure how that happened, but it did. I'd also say to go get the Quick Start book Macromedia makes, if you haven't already (about $25). Go work the tutorial and see if you can get that to work, doing it step by step exactly like the book, pg 197 of MX manual, and also read the book as there is a lot more information in the Quick Start book.
