flash (macromedia) : why is Flash so complicated?

Why?
I truly respect applications that are customizable at a programming level. Flash is one of the rare applications of that sort, and it is precious for that reason. But then come on! Why can't such basic and universal functions such as loading jpegs in a movieClip be as simple as -say:
1)select function "load jpeg in movieClip"
2)select jpeg
3)select movieClip or MovieClip frame
DONE.
And if the jpeg happens to be progressive, which Flash doesn't support, then why can't Flash open a warning window such as
"can't load jpeg because it is progressive"
DUH.

Instead it took me two days to figure out how to do it.
Why doesn't Macromedia integrate more ready-made-easy-as-one-click-of-the-mouse BASIC functions?... Or at least leave the oh so helpfull "normal mode" in the action Script panel, that desappeared with MX 2004 (and as a result, to make a mouse over button I have to open my old Flash MX files to copy and paste the code because I don't know where the coma, parenthesis, dots, etc are supposed to go!!!)???

Flash was never user friendly, but why does it have to become less and less user friendly after 10 years of developpment?

This is a programmers and artists app. If it was not for the dynamic programming thats intergrated so well into this app, it would just be called, "Paintbrush MX".

Might I suggest an app more suited, try Swish. I think there is a Ladybird book for it too. :p

Where the Jpeg going to be located?? It need coordinates too, unless you want it situated at 0x, 0y. It is simple, you just have to know what the simple command is. If you have problems, just come here and ask, were all here to help, but please, don't come here complaining about how hard it is and how we they should change the app. Works great for everyone else.
