flash (macromedia): dtrace;
It probably depends on what is making it so "heavy" and what you want to
use it for in flash. If the size is due to an extraordinary number of
points/vectors, and you need vector for your flash usage--the only approach
that comes to mind is to somehow simplify the drawing. Exporting as a swf
from ai might make it smaller than importing the ai file directly (worth a
try anyway). On the other hand, if your usage in flash allows, perhaps you
can rasterize the ai graphic (if there are few colors and it is not too
large in area, a reduced palette gif might suffice). -Tom Unger

I have a map of the world as an illustrator file. I want to bring it into flash, but can't have it be so big in terms of memory.

How can I, in illustrator, make the thing smaller or less memory heavey?

I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Thanks.
