Perhaps you are losing animation in a movie clip? If so, export to
formats that have a single timeline (video, ani gif, etc) require that all
elements be on the main timeline. Converting your MC to a graphic symbol may
work, otherwise copy the frames to the main

You can upload zip files in the web based forum here, but provided the
file is under a mb send it to me and I'll take a look sometime tonight. -Tom

Tweening in Animated Gif Help Please Krooner

Hello everyone,

I haven't worked in Flash in a while and I am trying to creat an animated gif and I just want to do a slow glow from dark green box to a light green box and back to the dark green.

I set up the timeline and all works well when I test the movie within Flash, but when I export it and check it in a browser, the box doesn't tween up and down slowly between light and dark green, it just turns on and off between colors.

Can anyone tell me if I missed a step?

I checked the pulish settings, etc.

I thank you VERY MUCH for any help.

Just a guess here...you are using 128-256 color .gif?

Hi Toulouse,

I'm not sure actually. I checked in the Publish area and tried different settings for Adaptive, etc. and it still didn't work, although it appeared to show more colors.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

I forgot that I altered my address--you have to remove the letters
"takeout" from from my email address to send it. Uploading here is probably
even better as others can take a look too. I'm not sure how much longer I'll
be working tonight... -Tom Unger

Hi Tom,

I appreciate the feedback. I have everything on the main timeline. There are layers, but everything is on the main timeline.

I tried making sure the glowing box from a shape to a symbol, but that didn't do it either.

Is anyone possibly interested in having me e-mail the file to take a look at? It is a very simple file, but I can't make it tween properly, even though it looks fine when I Test Movie inside Flash.

Or is there a place to post the file that someone can look at??

Thanks.

Tom,

I tried to e-mail you, but it came back as undeliverable, so I will upload the file here.

Please let me know if you are able to check it out.

Thanks VERY MUCH and I will return the favor in any way that I can.
