Also selling the company name Flash Designs Ltd, has credit card merchant
facilities setup, if you want the best web designs name and domain name for
Flash Macromedia you can't beat this. Company background is in electronics, but
you can redesign the web site to show Flash marcomedia content/services. The
site attracts many thousands of hits every month, many from people intertested
in Flash macromedia. If you want to discuss buying the domain name and company
send me an email to flashdd@attglobal.net

Thank
Davi

Well if you would like to suggest another forum I can post to please do, but
this is general discussion and someone out their may want to start a new
business promoting Flash Macromedia so the above topic will be relevant. The
subject title says it all..

wit offers .

Totally agreed, Jeckyl- that's exactly what the general announcement
forum is for.

Consider the request heard- also, there has been some discussion of
consolidation/reorganization in the forums recently, so if anyone has
any further thoughts on that subject feel free to send 'em along
(sfegetteATmacromediaDOTcom) as well.
Thx!

Macromedia products are not marketing tool so general forums does not make it OK
to be use to spam with commercial content . It is for technical discussion - general.
I believe the forum topic says it all , Macromedia Flash not Macromedia related Business.
Plus , you don't really think anyone would buy second hand domain .

Please go spam else where

Try general announcement newsgroup/forum.

That's probably the best place for off-topic threads and any announcements
etc.

I don't think there is a forum/newsgroup for 'for sale' notices. Maybe
there should be. There are probably enough people who would like to post
flash-related but commercial / non-technical content to warrant a separate
forum.

Then those who want ot keep this forum for technical issues (as it is really
supposed to be) would still be happy. And those like you who do want to post
off-topic or commercial content would havea place to do so. Then it is up
to the reader whether they want to look in that forum or not.

Maybe suggest this as a wish to the powers-that-be at Macromedia.

Thank you also.

If you were consolidating, I'd suggest combining macromedia.flash &
macromedia.flash.actionscript forums again. Although it was a great idea in
theory to separate them, all that ends up happening is that the same sort of
questions get spread between the two groups .. just as many AS questions in
the non-AS thread, and non-AS questions in the AS thread. If there was a
moderator who could move threads between forums and keep things organsied,
that would be great. but without that, it just means we have to look in two
different forums instead of one.

Another issue that really needs addressing is for the web site. The forum
links related to Flash are all there nicely on one page, BUT the forum link
for FLash Player is hidden away in the right margin. That means people with
problems with FLash player start posting in the genreal Flash forum instead,
where they would be better served in the Flash Player forum.

Try this. Imagine you have some Flash Player problem. From the main
macroemdia home page you follow the link to the forums (
http://www.macromedia.com/support/forums/?promoid=home_short_forum_082503 )
There in the main part of the page under the heading "Product Forums" you
find "Macromedia Flash". It would seem logical that that would cover Flash
Player, so you click there. Then you get to the "Flash Support Forums" page
( http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm?forumid=15 )
where there is a list of the particular forums .. and look, there is no
forum for Flash Player !!! So you pick the general forum because nothing
else seem to cover it.

What the user very easily missed in that example, is that the Flash Player
isn't listed as a product in the main page, instead its 'hidden' away on the
right hand margin menu in that opening forum page .. and once you get past
the opening page and into the Flash Support Forums, there is no link to it
at all. That explains why there are posts about Flash Player in the flash
forum. JD has several times asked why people are posting these in the wrong
forum .. nad the problem really lies with the way you web pages are laid
out.

Anyway .. its something worth looking at to help your customers find the
help they need.
