flash (macromedia) : Green Screen Technique in Flash?

I'm currently looking into this myself and I know it's possible to do. For
a couple examples check out http://www.fullsail.com/swf/index.cfm or go to
http://www.platinuminteractive.com/demos/ and click on Goodyear Truck Tires.

You might be able to use your video editing software to do the chroma-key
work, and drop the background from your Flash movie into your video before
exporting it. It would be really simple if you were to use a solid color
for the background...like white.

Or there might be a way to export your video with a transparent background
using an alpha channel?

Urami,

What you described is the same thing I said. "You might be able to use your
video editing software to do the chroma-key
work, and drop the background from your Flash movie into your video before
exporting it."

But what you're saying is that there is no way to import video with a
transparent background using an alpha channel or something?

This might be an odd question for this forum but I've got to start somewhere.
I'm planning on importing video into my Flash movie. I want to place real
performers in front of the background of my choice. I guess what I'm talking
about here is the old green screen approach where I make the original video
background transparent so what's left is standing in front my own 2nd layer
background. I've got no problems using stills in Flash but does anyone have any
idea how I can accomplish the same thing using video? Hope this is clear. Thanks

If you asbsolutely need to do it in Flash, make a video with
your performers in front of a solid color background. Start an
entire new movie in Flash, se the background color of that
movie to the same color as your recorded background, and
import your video as a Movie Clip.

Now comes the horrible part. Go into each movie frame,
and on each, do "Trace bitmap." This process will take
several minutes, and most likely you'll wind up with a
frame of garbage until you find the right parameters to
trace with.

Once all the bitmaps are traced, change the background
color of this movie back to standard white. Probably
some glitches will show up in each frame, which you'll
have to erase. Save the final movie, which will probably
be HUGE. You might try "Simplify" on each frame: it MAY
work but it also MAY scramble the images beyond recovery.

Once all this is done, you can start to edit your main
movie and import your massaged video.

Flash can not do it automatically nor does it have any options for video control.
The only way will be to manually draw mask over the video and continuously change the mask as the
shape you like to show moves . Would be easy is the subject is as still as possible.

Sorry but your are incorrect.
The sample you provided has actually lady recorder on the same background as the site background.
It could be edited in video program but it is loaded to flash with background :
http://www.platinuminteractive.com/demos/content/gyct-warrantytraining/ELearning-gyct-casestudy.swf

It can be very visible while loading as the background do not align with flash tile and shift for a
seconds .
Because of the design can't really see the difference but it is not done in flash.

Same apply to your first example, the video with white background is imported to flash
and it was edited prior to import.
you can record it on green screen or any screen , replace and video editing program with whatever
you going to use in flash and than import all. Flash do not support any and it means ANY file editing
within its environment and such stuff is just not possible.
