flash (macromedia):
Basically, all the html file does is link to the swf file, the same way it
would link to an image. But just as for an image, the html file does not
CONTAIN the swf file. It links to it. So you need to upload the swf file on
your server as well as the html file for your friends to see it.
You actually don't really need the html file.
Your link for your friends could just be:
http://www.yourserver.com/yourswf.swf Just like if you want to show them an image, you don't need an html file,
you can link to it as:
http://www.yourserver.com/yourimage.jpg On 2/12/04 5:03 PM, in article c0gt8a$c5b$1@forums.macromedia.com, "66split"

I'm new to Flash MX, and recently built two short flash animations, both of
which I published in .html as well as .swf format
I e-mailed the .html file to two friends to view, but they are unable to play
the movie on their PCs (nothing loads). I can successfully play the published
animation myself from the .html file if it is in my working directory, but if I
move a copy of the file to another directory or drive, it doesn't always work.
Is there another file (or set of files) that I need to transfer as well? Does
it have something to do with file permissions
Thanks
