Ok, ive red the manuals again and ive got further

Now i create the box and give it a motion tween
Click on "orient to path
Create a guide layer for i
Draw the path i want it to follo

Having done this, all i can get the object to do is rotate rather than follow
the path i want it to, what could i be doing wrong.

Thanks

Ok, i did provide a link in the post above but ive uploaded it as a .zip fil

Since posting i have now got the box (train) to move round the track however
it does not rotate realisticly.

You have to see it to get what i mean

Let me get this straight: you have the object moving along the path and
rotating, but the rotations are not realistic

I have done a bit of animating things along paths, and depending on the path,
you may need to drop in more keyframes at certain points -- like if your rollar
coaster cart has gone down a dive and needs to "sweep" back up again quickly
into the next hill, then you'll want to at least have a keyframe at the end of
the dive, at the beginning of the next climb, and maybe one in between if the
movement is wonky. Move them around in time to adjust how fast or slow things
go at different points in time. You can also play with selecting a keyframe,
and clicking "ease in" or "ease out." This will make your object appear to
either speed increasingly towards some endpoint, or start fast and slow down as
it reaches it

Hope this helps

Here is a simple movement along a straight line that may help you.

Hi Chri

Can you upload the FLA file , zip or rar and provide URL ?
It will be much easier if I can see to directly tell you what is wrong w/o guessing
and confusing your further.

Sorry, you must be using the Macromedia Web Based forum.
I can't see links or attachments.
They function badly for the news server users like me.

The forum I access by news reader directly connecting to news server .
The one you use going via browser and macromedia whatever it is than ends on news server.
The html formatting is screwed up and once the message arrive here it's striped from
lots of tags . News reader users have problems get the messages right.
Only if open with browser and online forum we can see them correctly.
The web based forum always had problems and macromedia barely do anything.
It takes months for them to make smallest change. Very often browser based users can't
see reply from news reader group and the browser based groups are not in synch with google
archive engine. If you check online archives you will find the messages from browser based
forum are missing .
Anyway , sorry can't help .
