flash (macromedia):
Hello

I desperately need help on a Flash project that I am working on. I have an
introduction, and then 5 buttons on the main timeline. For each button, when
pressed, I want it to go and play a specific movie clip. For example, one of
the buttons is "Flash" and when a user clicks on it, I want the movie to play
the movie clip "FlashScene". I'm fairly new to ActionScript and I've tried
different strategies. At first I had the different movie clips in scenes, but
didn't really know how to work with them. If someone could look at my file and
give me a clue as to what to do, I'd really aprreciate it!!!

I tried to upload the Flash file but it said that type of file wasn't
supported or something, so if someone thinks they can help me, I can send it to
you via e-mail

Thanks
Susanna

First ,you can not call movie clip across scenes .
The clip must be present on the timeline if you try to call it.
Second , it really is very basic stuff , fully cover by manuals attach to your program.

Place the clip on some frame , give the frame LABEL name and target that label with
_root.gotoAndStop("labelHere");

Once you enter that frame , any movie clip on it will automatically play.
