Usually "gives" some problem on your end . If it was common we would have more reports of such
behavior already.
This is literally impossible to troubleshoot due to countless variety of applications and drivers
and settings you might have that corrupt or prevent files from playing .

Try to install on another computer , if it works fine than you know it is your end only.

You aren't alone. I have tried numerous times to download it, also. I've
checked my security level; I've even re-installed IE6, to no avail. I, too, am
at a loss as to why it won't load. Hope someone can help us.

Ive actually seen MANY MANY people complaining about this. Not being able to
install Flashplayer 7 into IE6

And NO SOLUTIONS.

What gives???
I really need this flashplayer for my schools website. I have a new computer
too & did everything this site suggested with
no luck. Still can't install flash player 7 with website or standalone. Its
making me crazy.

I found that I had disabled flash something or others on my computer. I used a
program called xteq systems to find the setting, it was in the i.e. settings.
Once I did that and restarted, Flash downloaded just fine. Hope this helps!

I have been trying for two months to download and install the free flash player
also and have not been able to do it. I have read all the FAQ's, I have
written to Macromedia and and attempted to check all my settings, but not being
that techy I still have not been able to download it. I can get shockwave, but
not flash. Can anyone help me out. Running XP, I do have a router with a
firewall. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would help.

You just have to have patience. It will take 2-3 hours. You will have
to go through about five people at Macromedia. Each will point you
paitently to the Web site, walk you through the steps of getting Flash,
and you will report to them that nothing happened. Then they will start
you over, patiently work you through the steps of installing Flash, and
hear the report that nothing happened. At that point, they will confess
to be baffled, and point you to their supervisor. He, in turn, will
point you to the Web site, walk you through the steps of getting Flash,
and you will report that nothing happened. Then he wills start you over,
patiently walk you through the steps of installing Flash, and hear the
report that nothing happened. Now HE will confess to be baffled, and
hand you over to HIS supervisor.

After about five repetitions of this, you will finally reach a high-up
technical support supervisor. After HE is baffled, he will finally send
you a hand-burned Flash installation disk.

At least, this is how it worked for me in my last job.

OK, guys. I got the solution!!! At least for me. I have both Zone Alarm and
SpywareBlaster. I disabled ZA and then went into the "Tools" tab of
SpywareBlaster and there sits "Kill Flash." Click on that and in there, on the
bottom left, uncheck the box that says "Disable and block" Macromedia Flash
download. I was then able to download Macromedia Flash without any
difficulty.
Hope this helps others. Whew!!
