flash (macromedia) : How is this done?

I have a wide-angle view (photo) of the surface of Mars taken by the Martian
Rover. It is as high as the stage but altogether it is about 10 x wider than
my stage, so (1) I?m wondering if I can ?pan? the image so that it drifts from
left to right and over a period of maybe sixty seconds so that the viewer
appears to be scanning the horizon and (2) whether I can make this a continuous
loop.

If this can be done, where do I start?

Thanks!

It's too large , default stage is 500 , 10x than will make it 5000
Flash can only run 2800 at most as still it is recommended for performance sake to
lower down the size . I don't go beyond 1000 pixels , above that it's hard ot get smooth scroll
if you consider some older machines to run it on.

In regard to auto pan , sure can .
Search forum archives for endless loop or endless scroll. I recently posted that.
You come across scrolling that can be set to auto or manual based on mouse cords.
