it could be your computer....most of the flash animations i play are like that
b/c my computer is really bad, and animations play like 1/2 the speed they are
supposed to play. The lines could just be a result from that.

Personally, I do not think it is your computer. I have a fairly new monitor and
see the effect you are describing.

I think the lines are jagged because flash interpreted your illustrator file
that way. Sometimes programs don't cooperate with one another, even if they
both support vector graphics (Freehand is very compatible with Flash for future
reference).

My suggestion is to select one of your lines and smooth it with the selection
tool (the wavy line at the bottom of the tools palette), however you need to
break it apart first (located in the modify menu). The lines I think may be
because the graphic was interpreted as a broken graphic. I would use the paint
bucket tool to fill it in. I hope this helps!

sorry , you posting from macromedia forum browser based and your links do not come right to
the news groups server. MM have the forum all screw up , I could not see it.
Had to go to he browser based forum , look for post to see the links.

Well , I'm not sure to be honest what is wrong , I try just now and it all worked for me very well.
The links call HTML pages , beside the button Profilene
"Axel Ole" target="profil-axel.html because it has TARGET instated of LOCATION .

There are some things that could cause it .
First , it is not good practice to use minus "-" to separate words , some languages
actually treat it as MINUS function. Javascript for instance .
Second , make sure you do not upload the file as ASCII but Binary . It could get damaged.

Beside that , not much coming to mind , do you by any chance load the SWF in some html
document that is not in same folder as the swf and XML file ?

Yea, I'm working on a brand new 800Mhz iBook G4. It's not a spaceship, but it
can do a few things...

What does convert to symbol do and is movie clip the correct option for
animation? You'd think it would be.

I got those vector things into Flash by just dragging and dropping them from
Illustrator. Maybe I should have exported them into the Library...

I'll try the fix you suggested... Thanks

OK - I made a new file, all form the beginning - from the same Illutrator
file...

Each element I draggged in I then broke apart and smoothed out and then
instead of using a motion tween as I did before, used shape tweens and also
made sure all elements had solid fills

If you look at the new file, my problem still persists. Maybe something else I
don't know about... I used large shapes that extend beyond the size of the
stage. Maybe that is a problem?

Please help if you can

Thanks

I am new to this group... and new to computers altogether. I may need this
explained to me a little slower! I am running MAC OSX 10.2.8 and using the
Safari and Mozilla browsers; It seems you folks have solutions, but I am not
following. I prefer the Safari and Mozilla browsers because they run much
faster for me than IE. But, of course, my recently downloaded Flash 7 is not
working. Ironically, it works okay on Macromedia's test page (even when using
Safari or Mozilla), but it does not work on other sites.

troymello;
Does it fail on all other pages, or just specific one(s)? If the player
works fine in safari on the MM test page it should work elsewhere. First,
make certain you have a flash 7 player installed in safari by checking the
properties of the player (in safari's plug-in folder) or ctrl click on a
flash movie in that browser. If the proper player is installed, then perhaps
you should post a link to a page that is failing in safari for others to
check.
