I don't like borders around my shapes. Every damn time I make a shape
in flash, I have to go and delete it's border. Why the hell is it
2004 and there's still not a setting in flash to have no border? Or
is there?

To make it worse, the little "circle" icon to close a shape while your
using the pen tool, LIES. it shows the circle, you click, and the line
isn't closed. I DID set "can be distant" in the preferences dialog.

So every shape I make, I have to 1. screw around trying to make the
line close, and then 2. Use the paintbucket and then 3. delete the
line. WTF? Oh and step 1 usually requires another step to fix the

if you want to make a shape with no border just click on the shape icon, then
its properties come up at the bottom and youll see the line colour square
selection thingy, click that and youll see a little red circle in the top right
with a line throught it, click that and there will be no border when you make
your shape.

you can turn it off on the tool bar ,
it always was there , many version back .

Select the shape tool , circle or rectangular .
Click on the icon next to color fill for the outline .
So it does not open the color pallet , just select it .
Than check the white square with red stroke in the middle ,
this turn off the color for this tool.
So if you draw it won't include outline anymore till you switch to
other tool.
