You didn't make the flash file, right? (since you don't know the correct
extension name of the source file)
The person who made it is giving you some trouble?

ahh..now it's making sense! If you need to, you can look at the pieces of
the swf file with a decompiler, but it's probably so much work to learn to
use the decompiler that it's faster just to make a new file. If you are
missing any images, sounds, actionscript, let me know and I will send you
the part you need by extracting it for you.
good luck,

Hello all
I really have a problem here. I built and maintain a web page at
www.joysdanceclub.ca
My problem is that i have deleted my swf file.
Is there any one that can crack the page and send me back a swf file or
is there a way for me to do it with out rebuilding the whole thing.
It is protected from import.
Thanks for any help. Bob

Ramcan...
I think you are confused.

The original flash file is the .fla file.
When yuo export, you obtain the .swf file, which is the actual animation.

I am assuming you have lost the .fla file.

In that case, there is nothing you can do to get it back.

Do you have a backup of your files? If you don't, it would be wise to
frequently bak up all your files.

All you can do now, is try some to rebuild it.

Cheers
Oli

The swf file is the working file which is what i have deleted.
I have the fla file but can not update it.I can bring it back down but
not change it because iI dont have the swf file. you will also a ramcan
trade mark on the page. Thanks

You mean swf or fla? I mean; if you build and maintain, why not simply get
the swf from the ftp server?

Still don't understand, but anyway. You can get the swf from the ftp-server
I guess; or of that is not possible, fish it from the browsercache.

Firstly, thanks very much to the regulars in this group that provide
informative, helpful replies to questions - I really appreciate it.
That's how I learned most of what I do know
Yes I guess I had it backwards but then Im just an old man with a
hobby, when i make the changes each week i delete the old one from my
folder last week clicked in the wrong place. I did manage to fine an old
file so I have most of it back anyway, just have to remember how i made
the sound slider. lol Thanks again
