flash (macromedia): Adman2004;
Not sure I follow as I can't picture moving something 1/4 inch requiring
"hours", but afaik fmx04 still offers the same methods for moving objects in
multiple frames as you have available in f5: using the "edit multiple
frames" feature, or copy/pasting into a movie clip... -Tom Unger

I have decided to commence work on my new company web
site...www.DavisAdvertisingInc.com. I haven't worked in Flash for a couple of
years and I have version 5. My question is this...Each page of the site will
have animated wording/lettering in the background which will play for a few
seconds and become static. Initially there will be about seven pages...pretty
simple really. The home page is up now but needs much more work (you can view
it at the above link). I want to know if I can/should create the entire site in
Flash alone. I am thinking that this will result in a "seamless" design, but it
may be too slow...or should I create each page in Flash and bring them into an
HTML program. Please understand that I am just getting back to work on Flash
and I have lots to learn. I appreciate any help.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The biggest disadvantage of an
all Flash site is that the browser "back" button doesn't do what the user
expects. I used to have my site in HTML that loaded different Flash pages. The
downside to this is it looks a little clunky. I changed to all Flash and I am
much happier with the result but that is just me and it suits my purpose. As
you said, you get more seamless results.

I suggest you upgrade from Flash 5 as well. You really are missing out on a
lot. There were major improvements in Flash 6 and Flash 7 has even extended
that.

Thank you very much...BTW one of the frustrating things about Flash 5 is that
If I want to move a block of copy a qtr inch to the right (the copy block
contains pretty complex text animations) it meant hours and hours of moving
keyframes over a few frames. Does the new version have a better facility for
doing this?

Flash 6 was a quantum leap over Flash 5 in terms of performance. Flash 7 is a
quantum leap in terms of features. The Flash players have gotten very much
better too. I started in Flash 2 and have seen the progression. The cost to
upgrade will more than pay for itself in hours saved.

One other disadvantage of an all Flash site that I forgot to mention is that
they are not robot-friendly. If you want to have your site easily picked
through by robots, you will need to do a little more work in the background in
the html tags. That is not a deal breaker though - just an FYI.
