I have an object right where I want it on the 5th frame of my Flash MX
movie.

I would like for it to stay displayed for the rest of the movie. It seems
that I somehow got it to work by creating a "static" frame (I think that's
the right keyword), but not sure.

How can I accomplish this? I looke at the turorials but don't quite
understand yet.

Thank you!!

Make sure it is on it's own layer.
Create a keyframe on frame 5. Paste-in-place the object from wherever it is now (if not already on own layer).
Then just add a (not a keyframe) frame at the end of the movie for the layer. The object will therefore stay 'til the end.
