Hi, exporting a swf from a (very large fla) file which exported in about 40
seconds in Flash MX now takes about 2 minutes in FX 2004 Pro. Any idea why??
I'm not compressing it or doing anything unussual...just straightforward
CTRL+ENTER on a PC as I had for the earlier Flash MX file -- but now it takes
ages to export.

Is this a common complaint? Any workarounds?

I also have some files created in earlier versions of Flash that now take a
long time to even edit - much less export. In the file - publish settings check
to see which version of the Flash player you are exporting to. Try to export
for Flash 7. This could make your movie not function correctly so be careful.
You may need to modify some scripts. If this does mess up your movie, you can
fix it simply by exporting back to the Flash version you had previously.
