Hi there,
I have a slideshow type movie (Flash MX, not 2004) that has a number of
content frames, each of which have a graphic in the top half and a dynamic text
box in the bottom half which loads html text from an external text file. These
text boxes have an attached scrollbar component to the right of the text box.
The text box and the scrollbar sit together on their own layer. All of which
works great.
However, two out of the 16 content pages require a slightly different layout.
In these, the text box needs to be larger, taking up most of the content area.
So I inserted new keyframes on the textbox layer for the two non-standard
content frames (and another keyframe on the next frame after these to set the
standard size again). I resized the text boxes on the two non-standard frames,
resized the scrollbars to go with it, and tested. Everything still works great,
my text boxes are resized the way I wanted, and the scrollbars still scroll the
content. However the scrollbars persist in appearing in the same size and
location as the standard pages.
So I deleted the scrollbar components of those two pages and attached new
ones. They snap to the text box and look great on screen but when I test the
movie they appear back in the standard height and location. For another test, I
attached a second scrollbar component to the text box and moved both scrollbars
to the left of the text box. When I test, my second scrollbar is in the size
and location that I put it but the first has moved back to the right hand side
and the wrong size as usual. Both scrollbars function normally to scroll the
text.
The scrollbar instances are not named, and naming them makes no difference to
this problem. You can see the movie here:

Can anyone help?
Kind regards,
Scott Whittaker
