Opening a .swf without the .fla? poetdi

flash (macromedia):
Hello, and I am sure that this will be the dumbest question ever. I inherited
a website that has an opening movie created in Flash. The original .fla has
gone missing, everyone who can be found who was associated with the original
has looked and can't find it, and it's not on the server with the site. Is it
at all possible to open a .swf to edit without having the .fla? The only thing
I need to do is change where the link points? Thank you for your help and
hopefully not laughing. :-)

Not to my knowledge - that is what the source file is for. It's sort of like
making a thousand layer graphic in photshop and changing it to a jpg when your
done, layers and the ability to edit them are gone.

Although, you could make a blank html page with a redirect java script on it
to point to the correct link .

Thats all I can think of.

Hello,

Our URL Action Editor ( http://www.buraks.com/uae ) is designed to change
links in SWF files.

If you need to change just a few links, send the SWF (or a link to it) with
some info to burakk@buraks.com and I'll do it for you.

Best regards,
Burak
