There is few ways , pick one that suit you most:
- you can draw entire shape of the travel , the whole path. Add new frame (F6 key) and delete small
bit of it start from the back of the animation (last destination I suppose would be the word here).
Add new frame again and delete some more of it and so on till you reach the end and no more bits to
delete. Highlight all the frames that you generated during this process , right click and from the
menu choose Reverse Frames .
Now you will have nice animation that looks like it draws itself.
Sample :
http://www.flashfugitive.com/hand.swf - you could use shape tween . Draw small bit using the line tool , few frames away insert new frame
(F6 key) and stretch that bit to a longer line . And so on . This will be more tedious and might
require more layers than the first method but it's as well fine for some arrangements. Could get
slightly complicated when you want rounded turns , so best would be to use stroke connected to stroke.
No curves.
- you could use Mask. Draw entire line , cover it will mask and use shape tween to shrink or extend
the mask layer , revealing in the same time more of the path.
The two last one are really problematic if you get to a complex path , I would suggest the first
solution. Is the easiest and fastest to achieve.
