flash (macromedia) : Sharing embedded fonts

How can i create an external swf that contains the font glyphs for all of my
other swf files...so that i can loadthe fonts once.

Currently my swf files are about 5 or 6 k each, but if i want to use my custom
fonts for the dynamic text in those files the file suze jumps to about 40k. I
read that the petstore [blueprint] used an embeded fonts file, but it doesn't
explain how to make those fonts available to other swf files.
Any other tutorials about this out there..or maybe somebdy can explain the
steps in thos forum or link me to a similar topic.

- Again I want to create one swf with the embedded fonts and make those
fonts glyphs available to all the other swf files that i externally load.

as an aside, references to how to share library symbols would be helpful too.
even if you just give me some good keywords to search with.

I'm not 100% sure about this but, I believe that each swf must have embedded
fonts to work properly. I can't think of anyway to apply a global font setting
to all loaded movies. I embed fonts all the time and I always treat each
published movie as a seperate file. The file size will always jump way up, but
I don't really mind because your movie will be displayed the way you intended
it to!
I don't know of any tutorials about this but in the 'help' section of the
flash program itself there is some good info.

Thanks for the quick reply Mike,
If that is true, then Flash has greatly depreciated it's Font support. in
Flash 4(?) i was able to export fonts for swf use..then that would get cached
and reused by each swf. In flash 5 we were able to create a shared library,
(and in mx1/v6 too i think), then we could create a new font sym in the library
and share it....but MX2004 is changed again, and i can't find any documentation
about it. I am betting it's an actionscript 2.0 thing, but < opinion> the
documentation of the plethora of AS2.0 changes is weak at best</ opinion>.
That's why I inquired about some good keywords to seach in the documentation.

I have been fighting this problem for almost a year now. I create eLearning and
educational online courses, which most are translated into 10-15 languages. For
the time being, we have just been creating new versions of the course with, the
different embedded characters needed for that language, which is a pain if you
need to to republish for some reason.

My post on the problem:
