I have been trying to produce a marquee to act exactly the same way as the html
marquee tag. At the moment I am using tweening to make a symbol move across the
screen. The main concern is that I want to easyily update the scrolling text
without the need to time the tweening each time I change the length of the
text. Also, the marquee needs to scroll endlessly across the screen.

I have looked at flash kit without any luck of finding anything.

I have Flash 5. Would you point me to a location where you saw an HTML marquee
tag? I think I know what you want, but in order for you to have text, you
would have to break it apart into separate symbols b4 making a movie clip.

the html marquee looks like this:

<marquee width=767 behavior=slide direction=right loop=infinite><a
href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" target="_blank">This is a
marquee example in html that I would like to mimick. I use flash MX but I will
export the swf as flash 5 to make it more compatible with website visitors. The
text will be updated on a regular basis and was thinking of using a script of
some sort so I can update text quickly without the need to rework the flash
file too much</marquee>
