flash (macromedia):
I recently put Flash MX 2004 on a new computer. I put some music in the
timeline, but it won't work like it should. The music will play, but I can't
select a certain point in the song and have it start playing from that point. I
have to go and click rewind every time. This makes it take forever to match it
up with the animation. Please help!

If you actually placed the sound file on the timeline itself, you should see a
waveform representation of that sound file on the timeline. You have to insert
a blank keyframe on down the timeline so you will actually see the whole
waveform. When that's done, you should be able to place your mouse on any frame
and start playing the sound from that point (if you are trying to match up with
animation on the timeline). Make sure you have your sound SYBC settings to
"stream" so it will match the fps of your animation timeline upon export.

[quoted text, click to view]

The very easy way would be to set the sound to stream , stream is timeline dependent, if timeline
stops sound stops, so to play it again all you need it _root.play(); and to stop it _root.stop();
it will start from place it was last stopped unless you jump frames on the timeline.
