flash (macromedia) : Adobe colors vs. Flash colors

Is this just me?

When I look at color #AC1723 in Adobe Photoshop and then look at it in Flash,
they're totally different. Anyone else run into this? Is there a way to sync
them up? Who's right?

When I import a flattened image into Flash and eyedrop the color, it's
#CF1020. Strange!

hmmm.. I get the correct #AC1723 with a photoshop PNG but I get an average
of #AD1723 with a Photoshop jpeg at 60% quality. The compressed jpeg is
likely to have some jpeg "blotchies" in it to account for minor variations
but I don't know why you would get something that far off.

KentDC;
Could be caused by some type of color profile/management that is being
applied in photoshop (afaik flash does not use any)... -Tom Unger

Are you running 16-bit display .. that would do it. Use 32bit color.

Check the ICC profile stuff, adobe has a way to display colors depending on
the system profile, NTSC for example.... flash has no such thing so youll
always get the VGA representation of that color.

It's best to turn off color profile embedding for Web work anyway.
Browsers don't read it.

Well, I've tried setting all of my Color Management Policies to "Off" and
nothing (I guess that'll work with newly created files?). I discarded the color
profile of the image I was looking at and voila! It was matching finally. I
guess I have to discard all color management profiles when opening a psd in
Photoshop.

Something good to note.

Thanks for everyones help on this. It was driving me crazy!
