I'm just getting back into using flash after several months hiatus.
I can't believe how much I forgot! I'm using the first version of Flash MX,
the same I used month ago and I'm wasting hours trying to get some simple
alpha effects for a splash page.

I have 3 elements on the page, 1. a background photo that fades in (finally,
it didn't work at first) 2. Text(as a movie clip) that changes tint(also
took a while to work). 3. More text (MC) that is supposed to fade in after
the first 2 actions take place.

I have been trying for over 2 hours to get the last element to fade in. It
works on the timeline( I hit play and watch the effects work perfectly). But
when I run the movie the effect doesn't work.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

possible reasons..
1. check the textbox, whether its dynamic textbox. Effects will work only on
static text box.
2. if its static textbox, then wht font r u using?
if its ms sans, just change it to some other fonts
