flash (macromedia) : I need help importing flash movie to FrontPage!

Hi-
For importing any file into Frontpage, you can click the File menu and you
will see 'Import' as an option; a window comes up and you browse for your
file (the swf file wherever you exported it to),...or you can export the Swf
into Frontpage from Flash or whatever program you used to make the swf file
which cancels your need for importing.
Setting up a flash file/movie in Frontpage - another matter - really
depends upon which version of Frontpage you're using. But I think I can get
you there or close enough for you to see it. If you're using Frontpage 2003,
it's very simple: Place your cursor where you want the movie to go and go to
the 'Insert' menu and chose 'Picture' and there's an attached sub-menu that
will have an option 'Movie in Flash Format'. Then a window comes up for you
to browse for your swf file (which hopefully you've already imported -
actually you can simply do this step and browse outside of the web for your
file and it's imported that way as well). Once your movie lands on your
page, you can right-click on it and chose 'movie in flash format properties'
and that way, you can tailor the size, transparency and looping/non-looping
of the movie.
For earlier versions of Frontpage (2000, 2002), place your cursor where
you want the movie on your page and go to the Insert menu (just like
before) - except this time, you chose (my memory here is thinner) 'Web
Component', or 'Advanced Component' or 'ActiveX Component'. Then a window
comes up and there are two columns - on the left, I think you browse all the
way to the bottom and chose 'Advanced Component' (or something similar, I
can't remember exactly). That'll bring up options on the right and you want
to look for something like 'Shockwave Flash Object'. Highlight that and
click Ok. That merely puts the space for the movie on the page, not the
actual Swf, so right-click on the square space on the page and chose
Shockwave Flash Object Properties (or it may be called ActiveX Properties or
Advanced Properties). Then you'll see text fields where you can put in the
name/directory of your Swf file and that's how it links the movie to your
page there.
I hope I've hepled. I'm sorry for not remembering Frontpage 2000, 2002
very well, but I think you'll see it if you follow what I've suggested. Good
Luck !! Frank Bright
