flash (macromedia) : Resizing Movie clips

I created two movie clips to be used in a movie. I need to make them smaller so
I use the Free Tranformation tool on the first one and everything is great. But
the second one I can not use the tool. I do not see the resizing handles. All I
get is the movie clip dot. I got to play and the first one is fine, the second
movie does play and keeps repeating but it is too big.
Also the first one I can use the W and H in the properties panel but with the
second movie clip. The first one has the sound, effect and Sync in properties.
I know I missed something and can't figure it out. If anyone has a clue please
enlighten me because I don't.
Thank you in advance for your help.

[quoted text, click to view]

that means that the movie clip is empty on first frame , no data nor size so it
can't be resize automatically.
You need to temporary drop some shape on first frame so it has some size for you to
play with , resize it and then delete the frame content once done.
