flash (macromedia) : SWF to FLA - newbie question

Hi all,

I've been tasked at work with making some changes to some of our flash
stuff. Unfortunately, this stuff was created before I started here
and it appears the .fla file is nowhere to be found. Is there a way to
make changes directly to the .swf file or even rebuild the .fla source
from the existing .swf.

Any help would be appreciated.

Simple changes can be made to the swf with "sothink quicker"

unfortunately there isnt a way. There are programs out there that will rip code
for you for AS or give you images from the swf but nothing will convert it
backwards.Though for some people it maybe unfortunate such as in your case,i
think many will it a blessing, hence many designers out there work long long
hours day and night on something and if some program existed that converted it
all backwards it would be a shame, for many people.Because their own special
designing tricks and tips of the trade would be discovered, which some might
want to keep to themselves. The best way is to rebuild it from scratch or search
online for the rippers if you need the code desperately.
