FLASH 5 ---------> DIRECTOR 8? -- flash (macromedia)

To anyone who can help,

I've put together an AV file in Flash 5 with ~ 30 layers
(including a gradient background). At full size in both Flash 5 and
Director 8, the animation is choppy. But at ~ 42% in Flash and 25% of
full size in Director, it runs more or less normally. The file weighs
in at ~ 417 KB. My box is PIII 450 MgHz. with 256 Mg RAM.

Here's one problem. When I publish the file in Director (only
a few KB big), it runs almost frame by frame! In other words, the
animation slow and choppy, to say the least. My objective is to create
some special effects in Director, and publish the result to run in a
broswer like Explorer (for ex.). I've run out of ideas. Any insight
from some techie guru out there? :-)

Have you imported the flash animation in director, or made the same
animation in director?
