flash (macromedia) : Slow Dissolve in Flash 5

I am basically trying to create a picture show using slow dissolves as the
transition between symbols. I received 2 responses to a previous post that
helped tremendously. However, I am encountering a small problem. Here is
an example of what is happening. I have created 3 layers, each with a
different symbol on the stage (all symbols are exactly the same size). I
have aligned each symbol on each layer so that they are all in the same
location. Layer 1 spans from Frame 1 to Frame 40, Layer 2 spans from Frame
30 to Frame 70, and Layer 3 spans from Frame 60 to Frame 100. I put
keyframes at Frame 30 and Frame 40 in Layer 1, at Frame 60 and Frame 70 in
Layer 2, and at Frame 90 and Frame 100 in Layer 3. I then selected Frame 40
in Layer 1 and changed the alpha to 0%, and created a motion tween between
Frames 30 and 40. I did the same thing at the appropriate Frames for Layers
2 and 3. HERE IS THE PROBLEM...At Frames 31, 61, and 91, the graphic that
is fading shifts to the right a few pixels. When the new graphic comes it,
it is in that same position. However, when the playback head reaches Frames
41, 71, and 101, the new graphic shifts back to the left so that it is in
the original position. Can anybody tell me what in the world is happening?

Thanks in advance for any insight offered!

change the alpha values to 1 and 99,
using 0 and 100 causes the pixel shift....long term bug
