Hi people!
I'm just entering the 2d to 3d world and it looks like a new fronteer
really...i'm astonished.
I even tried swift 3d but it crashes most of the time with complex artwork
so i tried lightwave.
The problem is how do integrate the two programs ?
Mostly i've found info about lightwave to flash and not the opposite
May anybody help or indicate some good link?
thank you
Emilio

What exactly are you hoping to take from flash to Lightwave, and why? Is it
2d vector shapes you are hoping to extrude into 3d objects? Do you need to
use a Flash animation as a material texture? More detail purlease!

Hi Peter,
Well, i'll be more clear...i try... cos i'm a newby
I just made a logo in flash, a static image that should be converted as a
bitmap or vector object, swf or eps or anything useful to the goal, into the
texture of an animated flag to lightwave, that, as i've just learned, has a
gorgeus wind effect.
The problem is that i really dont know how to import this file in this 3d
program.
So i need to know if this is possible in lightwave, cos in swift 3d any
object that exceeds a minimum format crashes, anyway is there some other 3d
application useful and easy to learn for the same goal?
Thank you

Emilio

Almost by definition, any 3d package that's any good is going to be quite
tricky to learn. They are deep and complex, and usually have a steep
learning curve. It sounds like what you want to do is texture mapping -
mapping a texture (in this case, your logo) onto a 3d object. Now, I don;t
know lightwave particularly well, but most 3d apps work along similar
principles. If you export your logo as a bitmap, you should ba able to apply
this bitmap as a texture to a material in Lightwave, and apply that material
to your object.

Alternatively you could do the whole thing in Flash - here's an example
another forum regular, urami, posted a while back:
