flash (macromedia) : Loading Progess Display

Firstly, my Experience with flash is pretty much going through the tutorial,
and only this week I was clever enough to work out how to import an MPEG, and
resize the cavnas to be the same size as the MPEG. Don't all run to pat me on
the back at once ;-)

When the video loads, it starts to play straight away. Fine on my own network,
but pretty lame when you do it remotely and the video keeps stopping as it
waits for the download to catch up.

My question is how do I set it up so that the video does not play until it is
fully downloaded, and while it is downloading I get that lovely loading
animation I am used to seeing while waiting for a flash movie to load that
shows what percentage has loaded.

TIA

If you are using Flash MX Pro, you can use both the MediaController
and Progress Bar components to achieve this. By using the Media
controller to load/play the video, you will be able to modify the
paremeters to turn off auto play. Anyway both components have some
good tutorials in the help section. Also on Macromedia.com there is
an excellent source for working with videos that will also help guide
you through the process.
